We recently spent a weekend at the Bethesda Lake Cabins with a large group of extended family members.

This is an amazing property with 10 cabins of all sizes. The accommodations and the surrounding land are both stunning.

The Bethesda Lake Resort and Cabins will make you feel as if you are away from it all while still being conveniently located to the restaurants and stores of nearby Mena, Arkansas.

All About Bethesda Lake Cabins!

First of all, I will tell you that every person in our party said that they would enthusiastically recommend Bethesda Lake Resort and Cabins!

Here are the reasons why:

Location of the Bethesda Lake Resort and Cabins

This amazing resort is located right in the heart of the Ouachita Mountains near the small town of Mena, Arkansas. When you make your reservation you will be given easy directions to the property.

Upon arrival you will feel as if you are a world away. All you hear while on site is the chirping of the birds, the sound of squirrels running through the trees, and the breeze blowing off of pretty Bethesda lake.

However, if you, like us, realize that you have forgotten something important, such as diapers…you are only an 8 minute drive from the stores and restaurants in the town of Mena, Arkansas.

The location really is the best of both worlds!

Who was in our group?

We were a large group ranging in age from 13 months to 81 years! We had a great-grandmother, her great-granddaughter and everyone in between.

Accommodating so many people of different ages with different interests is not an easy feat. However, our time at the Bethesda Resort and Cabins exceeded expectations in every way. We each had a wonderful experience staying at this very special place.

You can choose from a myriad of activities. The more adventurous can ride ATVs through the Ouachita Mountains and those who want to be quiet can read a book in a rocking chair on the front porch of their cabin.

Everyone can enjoy S’mores and conversation around the fire pit or take a relaxing soak in the pristine and bubbling hot tub.

Information About the Cabins

From the moment we arrived it was obvious that this resort was designed with families or groups in mind.

We were spread across two cabins, The Oasis and The Pointe.

The Oasis cabin will sleep 16 people easily. It is very spacious and airy with tons of natural light. We shared meals and conversation and played games in the large living area and kitchen here.

The Oasis has four king bedrooms, 3 and a half bathrooms, and a loft. The loft actually has two different spaces each with a twin bed and a double bed. This was nice as it provided a little privacy for the loft sleepers.

Our other accommodation was The Pointe. This is a stunning cabin with gorgeous views of the lake from the front porch. We spent a lovely evening making S’mores around the fire pit at The Pointe eating and talking and laughing.

The Point Cabin has a king bedroom, a queen bedroom, and a loft with 4 double beds. There are three full bathrooms.

A pretty house or cabin. The bottom of the house is in a gray stacked stone and the top portion is board and batten in a grey/brown color. The gables are steeply pitched and have grey shingles on the front side of them. There is a pretty front porch that sits above the ground with rocking chairs. Each of the 10 different accommodations on the property are beautiful and each has its own flair. They are situated far apart which imparts a wonderful sense of quiet and privacy. You will often feel as if you are the only people around!

Best of all each of the cabins has corn hole, its own large hot tub, and a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs. There are also a number of porches with tables and rocking chairs. Sheer perfection!

The exceptionally well equipped kitchens make it easy to prepare you own meals. We actually made a huge Sunday brunch to celebrate a birthday while we were there.

OK, we all know how hard it is to go on vacation and have an uncomfortable bed.

You definitely won’t have to worry about that at Bethesda Lake Cabins! We all agreed that the beds were incredibly comfortable. In fact, my Aunt claimed that it was the most comfortable bed that she had ever slept in.

That’s high praise!

Of course the cabins are spotlessly clean and you will love the thoughtful touches throughout.

Things to do at Bethesda Lake Resort

When we pulled onto the property everyone in my car exclaimed, “WOW!” Bethesda Lake Resort and Cabins is just THAT pretty. It is all perfectly maintained and gorgeous.

Besides the amenities that come with your cabin there are many more things to do here!

Fishing and Kayaking

Of course, the spring fed lake is a highlight. It is stocked and perfect for those in your group who like to fish. Be sure and bring your poles! There is a nice dock on the lake or you can fish from the manicured shoreline.

For even more fun the resort provides kayaks and paddle boards. We went out each evening to paddle around on the lake and watch the reflections of the sunset on the water.

Be sure and take a stroll around the lake. You will find chairs conveniently situated in the shade and even a nice picnic area with a grill on the north side.

Be sure and check out the spring that is just up the hill from the picnic area. A homesteader built the low rock wall around the spring in the 1850’s!

Swimming Hole

On the downhill side of the lake is a beautiful little swimming hole. The lake and swimming spot are both spring fed. Therefore, most of the year a waterfall tumbles into the swimming hole filling it to overflowing so that it then runs in a stream on down the hill. This keeps the water nice and clean.

Best of all, this is just such a pretty place to sit and relax. The trees shade the swimming hole, and there are benches, a picnic table, and a rope swing.

ATV Trails

If you are looking for a little more adventure you will be happy to hear that you can access the ATV trails at Wolf Pen Gap right from the Bethesda Lake Cabins property! You can even rent ATVs and have them delivered to your cabin.

Eight members of our group hit the trails on ATV’s. They returned home covered in dust, but thrilled from the day.

Yes, we HIGHLY recommend Bethesda Lake Cabins. In fact, we all agreed that it is one of the best places that we have ever stayed.
