We love to stay in an Arkansas cabin with a hot tub.
There’s not much better than spending the day hiking, floating a river, exploring a small town or driving through the mountains, then coming back and relaxing outside while enjoying the view.
This list includes a variety of stays, such as a luxury treehouse overlooking the Ouachita Mountains, a rustic cabin built into a bluff, a modern A-frame in the woods, and a state park cabin with a hot tub facing the valley below.
Somewhere in Arkansas is written by the mother-and-daughter team of Karen and Emily. Between the two of us, and often with our husbands, kids and grandkids along, we’ve personally stayed at many of the properties on this list. Others are places we’ve researched and are considering for a future trip. This is Karen writing, and I’ll let you know when a stay was Emily’s rather than mine.
Most of these are true cabins or treehouses. We have also included a couple of beautiful lake houses and larger retreats because they offer the privacy, scenery and outdoor experience that many travelers are looking for when they search for a cabin in Arkansas with a hot tub.

12 Cabins in Arkansas with Private Hot Tubs
In the Trees in Hot Springs
In the Trees Resort is our favorite place to stay in Hot Springs.
These modern treehouses and cabins sit along a wooded ridge in the Ouachita Mountains, yet the property is only about 10 minutes from downtown Hot Springs.
That combination of proximity and peace is one of the reasons we like it so much. You can spend the day in the busy downtown exploring the Hot Springs National Park, or enjoying a great meal, then return to relax in a serene mountain setting.
The treehouses are sleek, modern and luxurious rather than rustic. They have gorgeous large windows, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchens, heated bathroom floors and spacious decks.
Best of all, every current cabin and treehouse includes its own outdoor deck with a private hot tub. Although this is a resort with multiple properties, each cabin is situated and designed for maximum privacy and great mountain views.
We have stayed here at all times of year. In the summer we will even get up just as the sun is rising so we can enjoy the hot tub before the Arkansas heat kicks in.
This is a great place to stay for a Hot Springs getaway, or a special occasion.
Mount Magazine State Park Cabins near Paris
In our opinion, the cabins at Mount Magazine State Park provide the best hot tub views in Arkansas.
We stayed in one of the cabins during the winter, which was so much better than we even expected. Sitting in the cold air in a warm hot tub at sunset while looking out over the valley below was wonderful, and then we were able to go inside and enjoy the fireplace.
Of course, Mount Magazine is beautiful during every season. Spring brings wildflowers, summer is often cooler than the lower elevations, and the fall foliage can be spectacular.
Mount Magazine is the highest point in Arkansas. The park’s 13 cabins sit along the edge of the mountain with views way, way down to the Arkansas River Valley. These cabins all have a fireplace, full kitchen, a covered deck, and of course, an outdoor hot tub.
The cabins are spaced apart, which gives them a nice amount of privacy.
I have heard that you need to make your reservations early if you are planning to be on the mountain in the fall.

A Quiet Place Mountain Escape near Mena
A Quiet Place Mountain Escape is probably the place in Arkansas where we have stayed most often. We just love it, and as the name implies, it is restful and very quiet.
The resort is located on 60 wooded acres outside the small town of Mena and beside the Ouachita National Forest. There are currently two hot tub cabins.
We have stayed in both of the current A-frames and think that they are lovely with large windows and elevated decks that make you feel like you are living up in the trees. Inside they are cozy, comfortable and filled with thoughtful details.
It is the outdoor spa area that makes these cabins at A Quiet Place really special. The private deck includes a hot tub, infrared sauna and outdoor shower.
There are also other outdoor amenities such as a fire pit, screened porch, and plenty of comfy seating.
A Quiet Place is about 20 minutes from Mena and close to the Wolf Pen Gap ATV trails. Guests can ride an ATV directly from the property to the trail system.
The cabins also make a good base for exploring Queen Wilhelmina State Park and the Talimena Scenic Drive. We also have an excellent Ouachita Mountain Road Trip that you might enjoy if you are planning a stay at A Quiet Place.
Whitetail & Pine
Whitetail & Pine is a luxury treehouse designed for two. Emily and Daniel stayed here while I babysat Lyla and they said it was one of the most romantic places that they have ever stayed.
The treehouse is suspended about 25 feet above Goose Creek between two old red oak trees. Although it is located close to Fayetteville, the wooded property and sound of the creek make it feel much more secluded.
Emily said that her favorite part was the wood-fired cedar hot tub on the deck overlooking the creek and surrounding woods. This is not a large jetted spa. It is a round cedar soaking tub that is heated by a wood fire, which feels appropriate for the setting.
Do be aware that a wood-fired tub takes a little more time and planning than your typical hot tub.
Inside, the treehouse is beautifully designed and comfortable. The upstairs bedroom has a queen bed, a large round window and a net where you can relax above the main living area. The bathroom includes a large Japanese-style soaking tub and rain shower.
One thing to know is that Whitetail & Pine is inside the Farmington city limits. You may hear some road noise, particularly during the winter when the trees are bare. However, the creek helps soften the sound, and the location means you are convenient to restaurants, the University of Arkansas and other Fayetteville attractions.

Bethesda Lake Resort and Cabins
Bethesda Lake Resort and Cabins is a great choice when you are planning a trip with a family or large group. I think it would be wonderful for a family reunion.
The cabins are located near Mena on a lovely property that has a private spring-fed lake as well as a swimming hole. Guests can do some fishing or use the kayaks and paddle boards provided. The property also has legal ride-in access to the Wolf Pen Gap ATV trail system, so ATV riders do not have to load and unload their machines each day.
We stayed here with a large extended family group ranging in age from two to 81. Bethesda was just right for all of us. We rented two different cabins for our group and both had nice hot tubs, fire pits, and large porches. We also had a great time playing some of the outdoor games that were provided.
The cabins are spread across the property, some with lake views, others with forest views. They offer cabins in a wide range of sizes, from those that sleep four to Villa Bethesda, which can accommodate 35 guests.
Because the cabins vary so much I would suggest that you take time to compare them before booking and to make sure the property you choose has the exact amenities your group needs.
Ozark Modern Retreat Near Beaver Lake
Ozark Modern Retreat is a stylish cabin hidden in the woods near Beaver Lake.
We stayed here and enjoyed how private it felt. The house is surrounded by trees and has a large deck all across the back. Much of the outdoor space is covered and we spent most of our time outside during our stay here.
The cabin sleeps up to six guests. There is a queen bedroom and a loft sleeping area with twin beds and an additional queen floor mattress.
The loft is reached by a ladder-style staircase, which is something families should consider before booking. It can be fun for older children and agile adults, but it may not be the best arrangement for very young children or anyone with mobility concerns.
The main living space has large windows and sliding doors that look into the woods. The bathroom includes a soaking tub and walk-in wet-room-style shower.
Outside, you will find a fire pit, seating areas and the private hot tub. We loved that the setting felt so secluded even though we were not too far from the Northwest Arkansas cities. You might also enjoy our list of more places to stay on Beaver Lake.
Sovereign Cabin at Longbow Resort
Longbow Resort is one of the most well-known and unusual vacation rental properties in Arkansas.
There are four cabins on the property that were custom-built along the edge of a solid rock bluff and incorporate the natural rock into the designs.
Inside of Sovereign, stone steps lead to two semi-private lofted sleeping areas with queen beds. The first floor has an open living and dining area, full kitchen and large windows looking into the woods.
There is even an indoor waterfall that flows beside the slate walk-in shower.
Outside, the private back patio includes a four-person hot tub. There is also a balcony, fire pit and access to the private Sovereign and Bois d’Arc Trail.
Sovereign has long been on our radar because Longbow Resort is unlike almost anywhere else in Arkansas.
This is a rustic and remote experience. The property does not have Wi-Fi, cell service can be spotty, and there are very few grocery stores, restaurants or similar amenities nearby.
Families should also read the property information carefully. The rock formations, lofts, steps and bluff setting require close supervision of children, and the cabins are not wheelchair accessible.
However, this is a chance to truly get away from it all and stay in a place that offers a genuine sense of peace and place.
The Picklebarn Near Conway
Emily and Daniel stayed at the Picklebarn recently with a group of friends. Everyone said that they had a wonderful time. The barn sleeps up to 10 and has four bedrooms, including two king bedrooms, two queen bedrooms and built-in hallway bunks for the kids.
The biggest attraction is the two professional indoor pickleball courts. There is also an indoor basketball goal, grass volleyball, an outdoor movie screen, yard games and a children’s fort with a zip line and climbing wall.
Outside, the large private hot tub is a perfect place to recover after playing pickleball for hours. Everyone who went on this stay thought this was an amazing place.
The Picklebarn sits in a peaceful country setting outside Conway. It is a great choice for a large family, or a group of friends traveling together who want plenty to do without leaving the property.
The Highlands Retreat in Jasper
The Highlands Retreat is a modern cabin on three wooded acres just a few minutes from downtown Jasper.
The full wall of windows looks across the river valley and the mountains of the Arkansas Grand Canyon area. The same view can be enjoyed from the deck and hot tub.
The cabin sleeps six with two king bedrooms and a small bunk nook with two twin XL beds. It also has two full bathrooms, an open kitchen and living area and plenty of natural light.
The location is especially good for travelers who want to explore the Buffalo National River. Jasper is only about five minutes away, and many of the area’s hiking trails, scenic drives and river access points are within an easy drive.
This would be a lovely place to come back to after hiking to a waterfall or spending the day floating the Buffalo.
There is one important detail to know before reserving. The upstairs bedroom, bathroom and bunk area are reached by a narrow spiral staircase. That could be challenging for young children, guests with mobility limitations or even for guests carrying a large suitcase.
The property is also intended for quiet stays rather than parties or large gatherings, and pets are not permitted.
For hikers, couples or a small family who want a view and easy access to Jasper, The Highlands Retreat is an appealing choice.
Nature’s Loft Near the Buffalo National River
We have seriously been wanting to stay at this place for a while. It looks simply stunning from the photos.
Nature’s Loft is a collection of unusual tree lofts and woodland retreats near the Buffalo National River.
The individual properties have their own designs and sleeping arrangements, so this is a place where you need to compare the options. Some are A-frame treehouse chalets, another is reached by crossing a 45-foot suspension footbridge, and another even has a central outdoor atrium.
But there is one important thing that ties many of these rentals together and that is the private boulder-style hot tubs. They look like small rock pools rather than the standard hot tub. Several of these pools even have a fire feature positioned nearby.
Guests also have access to a private creek park with picnic tables, grills, outdoor games and places to sit.
We have not stayed here, so this section is based on our research. Be sure to check the photos and amenity list for the exact loft you are considering because they do vary.
Firefly on Lake Hamilton by Overnight Digs
Our most recent stay was at Firefly on Lake Hamilton near Hot Springs! This is a large, modern lake house rather than a cabin, but we decided to include it because it offers a great poolside hot tub, a wooded setting, a lake view and a great Arkansas getaway.
This property is managed by a company called Overnight Digs. We have stayed in several of their properties around Lake Hamilton. Their homes tend to have a similar feel: modern design, lots of gathering space, lake access and plenty of amenities for families and groups.
We stayed at Firefly recently with three generations and it was perfect for us. During the day the kids could swim in the pool while the adults relaxed in the attached hot tub. It also has one of the best views of Lake Hamilton and lots of privacy.
The resort-style pool with attached hot tub is pretty special. The pool has waterfalls and an infinity edge overlooking the lake. There is also a private dock for fishing, docking boats, and lake access.
The house has six bedrooms, five bathrooms and room for up to 17 guests. Large windows look across the swimming pool toward Lake Hamilton.
Inside, groups have multiple places to gather, including a game room and home theater. That separate entertainment space can be useful when children want to watch a movie or play games while the adults talk upstairs.
The pool is likely to be the main attraction during the summer, while the hot tub, fireplace and theater make the property enjoyable during cooler months too.

Sycamore Ranch Near Eureka Springs
Sycamore Ranch is another property that is more of a large retreat than a traditional cabin, but the setting and private outdoor recreation were too good for us not to include it.
The home sits on 500 private acres about eight miles from downtown Eureka Springs. It has four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms and space for up to 16 guests.
Outside, guests have access to more than seven miles of professionally built private mountain biking and hiking trails. Four bikes and helmets are provided, and the trail system leads down toward the White River. The property also supplies kayaks and offers access to trout fishing on the river.
Back at the house, the double-decker patio has outdoor seating, dining space, Beaver Lake and mountain views and a private hot tub. There is also a fire pit with seating for a group.
I think that this property would be great for an active group that will actually use the trails, river access and recreation opportunities.
Things to Know Before Booking an Arkansas Cabin With a Hot Tub
- Confirm that your specific cabin has a private hot tub. We have discovered that some properties will say hot tub when what they actually have is a jetted bathtub.
- Know whether the tub is electric or wood-fired. A wood-fired tub may be romantic but it requires a lot more preparation. You will need to build and maintain a fire, and the water may take several hours to heat. The experience is wonderful, but it is not instant.
- Reserve fall and state park cabins early. From October through the first two weeks in November is peak for most Arkansas cabins especially in the state parks and the Ozark Mountain region. Spring can be busy near the Buffalo River as that is prime floating season.
- You might want to download directions if you are heading into the mountains as cell service can be iffy.
- Consider the stairs and sleeping arrangements because some of these cabins can have steep stairs, ladders, or open sleeping areas.
- Check lake and river conditions because they can change seasonally. Some of the rivers can have dramatic changes in flow due to upstream dams generating electricity so pay attention to schedules and current conditions.
Which Arkansas Cabin With a Hot Tub Should You Choose?
For a luxury romantic getaway, our first choices would be In the Trees, A Quiet Place Mountain Escape or Whitetail & Pine.
For the best mountain view, look at the Mount Magazine State Park cabins or The Highlands Retreat near Jasper.
For a family reunion or large group, Bethesda Lake Resort, Firefly, The Picklebarn or Sycamore Ranch will give everyone plenty of space.
For the most unusual cabin, Sovereign at Longbow Resort is difficult to beat.
For a Buffalo River trip, compare Nature’s Loft and The Highlands Retreat based on which part of the river you plan to explore.
For a modern Northwest Arkansas stay, Ozark Modern Retreat offers privacy while keeping Bentonville and Rogers within driving distance.
Whether you want a romantic treehouse for two, a mountain cabin with an incredible view or a large retreat where the whole family can gather, Arkansas has some wonderful choices. Just be sure to check the exact property listing before booking because amenities, capacities and policies can change.
