More Information About Little Rock

There are two areas of Little Rock where most travelers stay; downtown Little Rock and west Little Rock. Both are centers of business with shopping, restaurants, and attractions.

Most of the hotels on this list are in one of those two areas. The only one that isn’t is the Four Points by Sheraton which is in midtown.

Midtown is near some of the area hospitals, the University mall, and the Heights and Hillcrest neighborhoods which have some of the best restaurants in town.

The downtown hotels are almost all in an area called the River Market district.

This is an entertainment district with fun shops and excellent restaurants. You will also find the William J Clinton Presidential Library, the Children’s Museum of Discovery, and the old State House as well as many other attractions.

You may also want to visit the new Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (formerly known as the Arkansas Arts Center).

Another fun thing to do in downtown Little Rock is to stroll Riverfront Park which is filled with monuments and artwork.

If you stay in the River Market you will only be a short drive from SOMA. This stands for South Main.

SOMA is an up and coming neighborhood. It is the location of Rock Town Distillery as well as the Esse Purse Museum, Loblolly Creamery and some great restaurants. This includes one of favorite restaurants in town, The Root!

Although I have not included any North Little Rock hotels on this list, if you stay in one of the downtown hotels you are also very close to the attractions in North Little Rock such as Simmons Bank Arena (formerly Verizon Arena), the Dickey Stephens baseball park and the Argenta neighborhood.

Not only that but you can either make the short drive to North Little Rock or take the downtown trolley!
