Where Does the Water Come From?

I’m not going to go into the history of the water itself.

But, according to the United States Geological Survey the water emerging from the ground in the area around Hot Springs began as rainwater about 4,000 years ago!

It percolated down through the earth becoming hotter and hotter and undergoing a natural filtration process before eventually being brought to the surface through the fractures and faults in the Hot Springs sandstone.

History of Mountain Valley Spring Water

The company was officially formed in 1883. The water comes from springs in the Ouachita Mountains and was named after a small community in the area.

What About the Taste of the Water

I recently saw that you can now get Mountain Valley Spring Water in plastic bottles, but for many years it was ONLY sold in glass.

Of course, you should still try it from a glass bottle! Aren’t ALL beverages better from glass?

As far as the taste ofMountain Valley Water – I love it! It is very clean and crisp and super refreshing. Although the taste is very neutral there is a sense of the minerality which, in my opinion is what gives the water its special crispness.

I prefer their still water, but they do have sparkling, and even some flavored waters so you will have a few choices.

It Also Comes in Pretty Bottles

Totally unrelated to the taste of the water but in my opinion it is also beautiful in its signature green bottles. I think it is the prettiest of all the bottled waters.
