Additionally, the town has a fascinating and rich history full of gangsters such as Al Capone, baseball players including Babe Ruth, bootlegging, Presidents, mineral water and more.

Not only that but there are a multitude of outdoor activities in the area. There are lakes and streams and swimming holes in the surrounding Ouachita National Forest. Garvan Woodland Gardens on the shores of Lake Hamilton is also a must visit.

The city of Hot Springs has museums, shows, shops, novelties and plenty of delicious restaurants. There is even a gangster museum in town if you want to learn more about the darker history of the town.

The Waters Hot Springs

Location, location, location. The Waters in Hot Springs is one of the newer hotels on this list and is situated right on Central Avenue in the thick of things downtown.

In fact, it is right across the street from bathhouse row. You will walk out the front door of this hotel and be surrounded by restaurants, nightlife, museums, shops, spas, and all kind of activities.

The hotel is located in the historic Thompson Building and has been renovated in a modern, clean style. There is a nice rooftop bar with gorgeous views of the town and the surrounded mountains.

This hotel is part of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton.

This is an old building that is shot looking up. It is made of white concrete blocks and has white pillars going up from the top of the first story. The windows are trimmed in a dark grey. The words Thompson Building are etched into the blog above the door. There is a new and modern glass and metal sign above the door that says The Waters. The Water is a hotel and one of the best places to stay in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

In the Trees Luxury Treehouse Resort

In the Trees Luxury Treehouse Resort is a stunning place to stay. They just opened in August of 2023 and I suspect that they will become very popular very quickly.

These “treehouses” are gorgeous modern accommodations built up off the ground and overlooking the beautiful Ouachita Mountains.

They are only about 10 minutes from downtown Hot Springs but feel like a world away. It is truly one of the most relaxing places I have ever stayed.

Each of the treehouses has a lovely deck with a hot tub. The attention to design and detail is impeccable. There is a full kitchen, a gorgeous king bedroom, and the loft has an oversized twin bunk bed if you are traveling with kids.

This is a very modern cabin set in the trees. The cabin rises two stories with a steeply pitches roof on the left side. It is board and batten construction painted in grey. There are large windows one of which follows the pitch of the roof line. There are three steps from the ground  up to the front entrance of the cabin. There is a modern metal railing. Lookout Point Lakeside Inn

If you are looking for one of the best luxury boutique hotels then Lookout Point Lakeside Inn might be the place for you.

It has received all kinds of rewards such as being named in the Top 25 Small Hotels by TripAdvisor and one of the Top Ten Lakeside Hotels by ABC Good Morning America and many more!

The hotel is located right on the shores of Lake Hamilton and every room has a view of the lake. One of the nicest things about the Inn are the beautiful grounds. The gardens are gorgeous and manicured and there are plenty of private places to sit and enjoy the views.

A delicious gourmet breakfast will even be delivered right to your room.

Hotel Hale

If you are interested in immersing yourself in history and in the thermal mineral waters then the Hotel Hale will be perfect. The is one of the best places to stay in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

The hotel is located in the Hale Bathhouse and has been renovated to have all the comfortable modern amenities losing any of the historical charm.

Best of all when you stay at the Hotel Hale you will have your own bathroom with a large tub and be able to soak in privacy in the healing mineral waters of the Hot Springs.

The exterior is and off white and the trim around the windows is green. Each of the windows is arched. The Hale is one of the best places to stay in Hot Springs.

Best Court Cottages

At the Best Court Cottages you might just feel as if you stepping back in time a few decades.

This is an old-fashioned motor court that was built in the 1930’s but has been completely renovated. Don’t worry, the cottages still have vintage charm and adorable front porches but are also modern and clean and comfortable.

The cottages come in a variety of configurations to meet your specific needs.

Not only that but, the Best Cafe and Bar is located right on the property. In our opinion this wonderful restaurant serves one of the most delicious breakfasts in the state!

Each of the cottages has a covered front porch with an arched brick entrance. The stairs up to the porch appear to be concrete and are painted an orangey red to match the roof shingles. The railings are wooden. This place is called the Best Court Cottages which is located in Hot Springs and is a great place to stay.

Town Place Suites Hot Springs

If you are looking for a modern and comfortable hotel then you should take a look at Town Place Suites Hot Springs.

This is a Marriott Property and is very clean and comfortable. It is an “aparthotel” that is very highly rated on Trip Advisor and is perfect for business travelers, families, or anyone who might want a hotel for an extended stay in the area.

It offers all the amenities that you would expect such as complimentary Wi-Fi, fully equipped kitchens, a seasonal outdoor pool and a nearby location to the Hot Springs National Park.

Breakfast is included daily and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Fox Pass Cabins

One of the most interesting and unique places to stay in Hot Springs is Fox Pass Cabins! The property is situated fairly near the Gulpha Gorge Campground and you can choose from a variety of accommodations!

Want to stay in a tipi or a covered wagon? You can do that at Fox Pass Cabins. There is even one cabin with a luxurious outdoor bath tub. I happen to be a bath girl so this one was a dream to me.

Each choice is so fun, but also very nice and comfortable. The various accommodations are all on one property but are spread out enough so that they each have privacy.

Some have fireplaces, others have hot tubs, some have spacious rooms while others are more cozy.

You will have fun looking at all the different options and picking the accommodation that is perfect for your stay!

The Reserve at Hot Springs

The Reserve at Hot Springs was just named the number 10 hotel in the south by Travel and Leisure’s Worlds Best awards. That’s a big deal!

This is a historic mansion turned luxury hotel not too far from downtown Hot Springs. There are 12 different rooms or suites in the mansion and in adjacent buildings on the property.

Each one offers something special and all have high end bedding, furnishings, and amenities. There are a variety of places to escape the ordinary such as the paneled library or a swing next to a lovely waterfall.

You will also love the gourmet breakfast!

Dame Fortunes Cottage Court

Dame Fortunes Cottage Court is quirky, little gem. It is vintage motor court located about 1/2 mile from downtown Hot Springs.

The motel has been fully renovated to have all the modern comforts and amenities, but still retains that 1950’s old-fashioned motor court charm. Two buildings with joined units face each other across the parking area and includes a common area for the guests.

It is also pet friendly which isn’t always easy to find.

This are simple, but clean accommodations and are less expensive than many others in the area.

Hilltop Manor Bed and Breakfast

Hilltop Manor Bed and Breakfast is a 5 acre estate on the edge of the woods of the Hot Springs National Park. It is a simply gorgeous Craftsman Style Mansion that was built over 100 years ago.

It has been completely refurbished and has all the modern amenities, but still maintains its historic charm.

This bed and breakfast has 5 suites. All are beautifully appointed and some have a Jacuzzi tub. The grounds are beautifully maintained with flowering gardens, a pretty waterfall feature, and an outdoor fireplace.

The breakfast here is also amazing!

Courtyard by Marriott Hot Springs

The Courtyard by Marriott Hot Springs is only a short drive from bathhouse row, the Oaklawn casino, Magic Springs Amusement Park, and Lake Hamilton.

This is a great place to stay with a quiet atmosphere, comfortable rooms, free wi-fi, an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, and ample parking.

Best Western Winners Circle

The Best Western Winners Circle is located right across the street from Oaklawn Racing Casino and Resort. This is a basic, but nice hotel with a convenient location.

It would be perfect for anyone who wants to visit the racetrack or casino and is also good for motorcycle enthusiasts who are riding Arkansas 7 which is a national scenic highway.

The hotel has a fitness center, free Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool, and even a motorcycle wash station on site. There is a free breakfast buffet each morning.

This is also a good hotel for business travelers as it is near the Hot Springs Convention Center which has a variety of events.

The Embassy Suites Hot Springs Hotel is connected to the Hot Springs Convention Center making it the perfect place for anyone to stay who attending an event. They even offer a shuttle with a 3 mile radius which will get you right to Bathhouse Row.

They also offer a cooked-to-order breakfast, a complimentary evening reception, and a swimming pool and fitness center.

For the ultimate in pampering and relaxation the Spa Botanica is also part of the property.

1890 Williams House Inn

The 1890 Williams House Inn was the first bed and breakfast in the state of Arkansas! It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has all the architectural detail and woodwork that you would expect to find in an old historic home.

The house is Victorian style, but has all the modern amenities that you would want.

The main house is 6500 sq ft with 6 guest rooms and several lovely sitting areas available for guests to retreat and relax. There is a carriage house with 4 more guest rooms.

This is a lovely, historic inn!

What About The Arlington Resort Hotel?

Although this historic hotel is certainly one of the most famous and largest hotels in the state I was disappointed the last time that I stayed there. To put it nicely, the hotel and rooms had seen better days.

The good news is that The Arlington is currently undergoing renovation. It is my understanding that this work will bring the building up to current safety codes as give it a great refresh.

I am hoping that soon this grande dame will be back to her former glory and will once again be one of the best hotels in the state. However, I want to wait and see what happens before I put it on this list of best places to stay in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
