We recently stayed at The Arka Motel in Rogers, and let me tell you…this isn’t your average motel.
The Arka Motel is a completely restored, retro destination that sits above Beaver Lake in Rogers, Arkansas.
This charming boutique motel was originally built in 1964. The renovation has retained the 60’s atmosphere with a stylish, clean and minimal mid-century vibe

The motel has a view of Beaver Lake and if you are interested in boating you will find the Prairie Creek Marina is only about a mile away. From there you can rent a boat or other watercraft or launch your own!
Beaver Lake just happens to be one of the most beautiful lakes in Arkansas and is the perfect place for fun on the water.

The Arka Motel is also located just a few minutes from downtown Rogers, making it a great base for exploring the area shops, restaurants, and local attractions.
Plus you can also make the easy drive to Bentonville and explore the trails and museums that make this area such a great destination.
Rogers and the Arka Motel are about 30 minutes from the college town of Fayetteville. However, this might be a great place to stay for those who are planning to attend a Razorback game, but prefer to be out of the hubbub of the game day business.
All Eyes on The Arka Motel
Arka was featured on HGTV’s Fixer to Fabulous. They showcased the renovation in a two-part episode that originally aired March 11 and March 18, 2025.
I highly recommend watching the transformation of this hotel before you visit. It was so fun to see all the changes that have been made.
You can really tell that locals Dave & Jenny Marrs did a great job creating a vintage-meets-modern style. They preserved the retro soul of the motel while giving guests all of the conveniences that they expect today.
What are the Rooms Like?
The rooms are simple but stylish. Think crisp white linens, clean lines, and colorful pops of decor that match the mural on the end wall of the exterior of the motel.
Everything feels thoughtfully designed to be both comfortable and photogenic. This isn’t luxury lodging, but it’s definitely full of charm.
We actually stayed in the motel’s only two bedroom suite. It is also the only suite on the second floor.
This is an excellent choice for a family or two couples traveling together.
In addition to two bedrooms with King sized beds it also has a wonderful greatroom with comfortable seating, a full kitchen, and a spacious dining area.
The BEST part about this suite is the HUGE balcony with a large table and seating area and a gorgeous view of Beaver Lake.

We were able to see some of the other rooms and they are also very nice.
You can choose either a king room or one with two queens. Each room has a two person dining table and a kitchenette. The kitchenettes each have a small fridge, microwave, and coffee station.
The bathrooms in these rooms are small but are very well done to make the most of the space. They have custom tile and nice linens.
The Property
Be sure and check out their mural on the end of the building for a good photo op. We also really loved the great Arka Motel sign that is located just as you come around the corner approaching the property.
The kidney shaped pool is a highlight. The vibe here is decidedly retro and it will make you feel as if you are in a scene from the television show Mad Men.
In the lawn below the pool behind the motel is a lovely seating area with twinkle lights and a fire pit. It is backed by trees for a little shade to use it during the day and has twinkle lights for a cozy atmosphere in the evening.
This is a great place to light a fire and make S’mores!
If you watch the episodes on Fixer to Fabulous about the Arka Motel you will see that there is also a bike trail on property. We did not have bikes with us did trip, but I did notice that the entrance to it was closed.
Be sure and ask about that if you plan to bike while you are at the Arka Motel!
Virtual Check-In
One thing that is important for guests to know is that this is sort of like an Airbnb Motel.
Most of the time your check-in will be virtual. Ours was!
You will be given the code to your room and can go right in. We stay in a lot of Airbnb’s so we are used to this process. But it might seem a bit different for someone who is used to a lobby check-in when staying at a motel.
The lobby is actually adorable with the name of the motel in tiles on the floor, a cozy sitting area, merchandise, and even a fire place.
However, it might not be open much during your stay.
We did find the staff to be responsive when we called. For example, we needed some more towels and received them right away.
All in all we really enjoyed this boutique motel. The two bedroom was perfect for our multi-generational family weekend.
I think the Arka Motel would also be a perfect escape for a couple, or even a good place for a gathering of friends.
It’s the kind of place that feels both modern and familiar—just like the best kind of local getaway should.
