Strawberry Shortcake at Trios (Little Rock)
Trio’s is an excellent restaurant year round. I find myself craving their Peck’s salad, but everything at this restaurant is delicious and always made with care and flair.
I am not exaggerating when I say that locals look forward to the Trio’s strawberry shortcake all year and flock here when it becomes available.
The shortcake served at Trio’s is a crunchy, light cookie more than a cake. It is topped very simply with local strawberries and whipped cream.
That’s it.
Pure perfection.
Strawberry pie at the Skylark cafe (Leslie)
The Skylark Cafe is one of our favorite places to eat in the state in every season. It is located in the charming town of Leslie in an adorable blue craftsman style house.
The decor and the ambiance of the restaurant is quirky, fun, and personal. Not only that but ALL the food is delicious. They have great pies year round, but, y’all…their strawberry pie is definitely one of the best seasonal strawberry desserts in Arkansas.
It is truly delightful.
The pie starts with a generous graham cracker crust which is topped with a cream cheese concoction, and then topped with ripe and sweet Arkansas strawberries, and then the whole thing is finished with whipped cream.
We highly recommend trying the strawberry pie at the Skylark Cafe!
Strawberry Shortcake at Izzys (Little Rock)
Izzy’s Restaurant is a West Little Rock favorite year round. They have a large variety of dishes and the food is always really good and consistent. I love their salads and tamales and my husband is crazy about the spaghetti.
They have a delightful lemon ice box pie and a decadent bread pudding that they serve year round…but during strawberry season you have got to try their strawberry shortcake.
The shortcake at Izzy’s has a traditional cake texture and is, of course, homemade. It is also topped with Yarnell’s ice-cream and local strawberries and then decorated with dollops of whipped cream.
Delicious!
Strawberry shortcake at The Pizzeria (Little Rock)
Are you surprised that a pizza place is on our list of best seasonal strawberry desserts in Arkansas? The Pizzeria is known in Little Rock for having excellent pizza year round. However, during strawberry season they also serve a KILLER strawberry shortcake!
Of course they make their shortcakes from scratch. it almost looks like a huge biscuit, perfectly browned and a little crispy but also tender and sweet.
They open that up and fill the middle with perfect local strawberries and whipped cream. Then they top it with even more strawberries and whipped cream
It is glorious!
Strawberry Desserts at Holland Bottoms (Cabot)
Holland Bottoms is definitely one of the best places in the state to get flats of freshly picked Arkansas strawberries.
If all you are wanting is strawberries you can go through their drive through. However, if you go inside the red roofed building you can get a variety of strawberry desserts as well. You should definitely go inside!
They have vanilla or strawberry ice cream which you can also get as a swirl and on a cone. But I suggest getting your ice cream in a cup and have it topped with their freshly picked strawberries and a shortcake cookie.
You might also find strawberry bread, strawberry cobbler, and strawberry jam! Be prepared to wait in a line if you go, but it usually move quickly!
Strawberry Cake at Charlotte’s (Keo)
Charlotte’s Eats and Sweets serves some of the best pies in the state ALL the time. If you are a coconut lover you have got to try their coconut cream pie. This restaurant is located in the tiny town of Keo which is not too far from Little Rock.
It is located in an old pharmacy that used to have a soda fountain. This gives it a great ambiance.
You won’t be surprised to hear that they make a great seasonal strawberry pie…but even better than that is the strawberry CAKE. I highly recommend it!
Pro-tip: Order your dessert as soon as you are seated because this place gets busy and when the pies and cakes are gone for the day…they are gone!
Strawberry pie at Cross Creek (Conway)
I’m not exaggerating when I tell you that Cross Creek is one of our favorite sandwich shops in the state! I love all their food but the Apple Creek Club is a special favorite. And definitely don’t skip their chicken and bacon ranch dip.
Some Ruffles chips with that dip – it’s the stuff dreams are made of.
During summer they also make a delicious strawberry pie. It is chock full of whole strawberries in a crispy crust topped with a glorious strawberry glaze.
I don’t know exactly what’s in it…but I do know that it is delicious!
Strawberry Shortcake at the Bulldog Restaurant (Bald Knob)
The Bulldog Restaurant in Bald Knob is an old-fashioned place that is a cross between a diner and a dairy bar. It has a drive-through as well as plenty of seating indoors.
The Bulldog is an Arkansas tradition for anyone near or driving through Bald Knob. They have daily specials, hamburgers, sandwiches, and all kinds of ice cream treats.
Their strawberry shortcake features ice cream topped with strawberries and the most delicious shortcake cookies on the sides. You can also add either nuts or whipped cream or both!
The shortcake cookies at the Bulldog are really the highlight of this dish. Sweet and just a little crispy to pair perfectly with the strawberries and ice cream.
