We recently had the pleasure of dining at The Springhouse in Yellville, Arkansas and it was a wonderful dining experience.
We were on a trip to the Buffalo National River and had been told that this new restaurant was a great place to try. I am so glad that we listened!
The restaurant situated in a wooden building, which looks a bit like a barn from the exterior, is just off of Arkansas 14 on Canoers Loop near the Buffalo River.

This restaurant blends rustic Ozarks charm and flavors with upscale, locally‑sourced cuisine.
It genuinely feels like a feast for all the senses. The moment we stepped inside we knew that we were about to experience something special.
Ambience at The Springhouse
The ambiance strikes a perfect balance of rustic yet refined. The owners describe it as “rustic garden chic.”
We were there for lunch and the interior was drenched in natural light from windows set high in the wooden walls. The atmosphere managed to be classy, woodsy, and cozy all at once!
In my opinion they have achieved the perfect balance of connecting diners to the Ozark culture and landscapes in an upscale environment.
There was also a chic and pretty bar on the back wall and plenty of covered outdoor seating on the exterior.
What We Tried (and Loved)
There were three of us at this meal and we all shared our dishes.
There is a full bar at the Springhouse, but we were going to be driving so we all opted to have a non-alcoholic beverage.
They had many great mocktails, teas, and lemonades in different flavors. There were options like a blackberry sage iced tea, a lavender lemonade, a springhouse Shirley, and so much more.
We all tried a different drink and they were equally good and refreshing. I’m sure the alcoholic drinks would be just as delicious.
Then it was time to eat!
For an appetizer we had the Savory Pork Bites. These were tender chunks of pork. The flavor was a little bit smoky and a little bit sweet. It was covered in a bacon jam and had a zesty orange flavor. They were excellent.
We also ordered the Canoer’s Caprese Flat bread which, honestly, was the best flatbread I have ever had. For me, it was the star of the show.
It was so pretty, so fresh, and SO delicious. This is the dish I will think about until the next time I get to visit.
We also tried the Prime Rib French Dip. So good. The meat just melted in your mouth.
A gentleman at a table next to us had ordered the Springhouse burger and told us that it was one of the best burgers he had ever had. He also commented that he was from Chicago so he knew a good burger when he tasted one.
I believe him! It looked delicious.
For dessert we had the pecan praline bread pudding and a lemon blueberry cheesecake. Y’all. Even after all the food we ate every bit of our dessert.
The cheese cake was a special so it might not be available when you visit but it was both smooth and sweet and just the right amount of tart.
The bread pudding was warm, gooey, topped with caramel praline sauce and toasted pecans. Utter comfort.
Why The Springhouse Stands Out
What sets the food at The Springhouse apart is their commitment to using the freshest, best, locally sourced produce and meats. You can absolutely taste the difference.
The staff was warm and attentive which added to the overall charm. We got to meet the chef and owner of this establishment as well.
I can’t wait to return again! We look forward to visiting for dinner the next time because I have heard that their steaks are excellent!
