The Hagarville Grocery is more than just a convenience store—it’s a cherished community hub that has been serving locals and travelers alike for decades.

This establishment has evolved over the years. It has been passed from owner to owner and has been several different variations of convenience store, gas station, deli, and grocery.

The current owners have turned this into a must-visit small grocery and SUPERB sandwich shop! This is a perfect stop for those who live nearby as well as for anyone out exploring the Ozark Mountains on or near highway 123.

In fact, I would say that the Hagarville Grocery is a destination eatery in Arkansas!

If you enjoy destination restaurants here is a list of some of the most famous ones in the Natural State!

Stepping inside the small country store you’re immediately greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. It smells great and the tables are a sunshine yellow with vases of fresh flowers.

The owners might not be from the south (they moved here from California and absolutely love their new home in Arkansas) but they have definitely embraced the concept of southern hospitality.

They made us feel right at home from the minute we entered the store.

Who is the “we” I talk about in my blog posts? We are Emily and Karen a mother and daughter duo who travel all over Arkansas finding the best, most unique, most interesting places to hike, eat, shop, and stay! We are often with Emily’s husband, Daniel, and their daughter, Lyla. Join in the fun on Somewhere In Arkansas Instagram!

Hagarville Grocery still has some well-curated grocery items, but this is now mostly a delicious deli and breakfast spot.

All About the Flavor!

For those seeking a breakfast treat, the “Burrito Mafia” breakfast burrito comes highly recommended. Packed with fluffy scrambled eggs, savory sausage, and a blend of cheeses, it’s a flavorful way to start the day.

The menu also boasts a variety of “sammiches,” each crafted with fresh ingredients and a lot of care. You will definitely find that their commitment to quality and detail shines through in every dish.

We rolled into Hagarville Grocery just before St. Patrick’s Day, and were lucky enough to try their special, a delicious beef brisket sandwich. It was a treat!

The brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender, packed with flavor, and piled high. The homemade sauerkraut served on the sandwich was perfection.

Of course, we didn’t stop there.

We also the Dog Mother Italian Sandwich, stacked with Italian meats, cheese, and just the right mix of seasonings, giving it that bold, savory bite.

My son-in-law loves a good Italian sandwich and he thought it was one of the best he has ever had.

My daughter and I LOVED the Cajun Momma Sandwich! Oh my! It’s a cajun turkey and cheddar concoction with homemade pickles, lettuce, a homemade creole mayonnaise, and crumbled chips on top. SO GOOD!

This place isn’t just a convenience store—it’s a little slice of small-town heaven, serving up some of the best sandwiches you’ll ever sink your teeth into.

Beyond the delectable food offerings, Hagarville Grocery also provides essential services such as fuel, groceries, and even hunting and fishing licenses.

It’s truly a one-stop-shop for those venturing into the beautiful Ozark National Forest.

And I have to mention the store’s beloved mascot, Jolene. This friendly canine greeted us by bringing by her ball to play.

If you are in the area, and you don’t stop at Hagarville Grocery, you’re seriously missing out.
