In Arkansas we LOVE our seasonal produce. We wait for the strawberries from Cabot, the watermelons from Cave City, and the arrival of Esau’s Sweet Corn from Dumas.

I wish I had a dollar for each of the Arkansas tables that are graced with Esau’s Sweet Corn on the 4th of July!

Here is more about this Arkansas delicacy!

All About Esau’s Sweet Corn

A Family Legacy Rooted in the Delta

Chester and Carol Esau started this family business back in 1990 and their children now are part of the business.

The farm spans about 180 acres in the lush Delta soil around Dumas, Arkansas and it has become a regional icon.

Why is Esau Corn so Special?

  • Non GMO: They grow only natural non genetically modified sweet corn.
  • Rich Delta soil: The corn is grown in the rich soil of the Mississippi River Delta.
  • Exceptionally Sweet Varieties: They carefully select the best and sweetest varieties of corn to grow and sell. One of the main varieties is called Triple Sweet.
  • Ultra Fresh: The corn is not picked until it is ripe and it is sold the same day that it is picked.

Where Can you Get Esau Corn?

  • Direct from the Farm: 304 State Police Road, Dumas AR, 71639

You can pick up your Esau’s Corn straight from the farm at the address above.

However, do know that when I mention that this corn is fresh…I mean it is really, really fresh. In fact, you might even have to wait in line for your corn to be picked, sorted, and bagged.

Believe me, it is worth the wait to get your hands on this fresh sweet corn.

Here is the Esau Farm Website so that you can see their opening hours and days and the price of the corn.

NOTE: They also have melons and blackberries and muscadines at the farm in season.

  • Local vendors and Farmer’s Market: Esau’s Corn is also sold around the state at many Farmer’s Markets and you might even see it being sold at a road side stand. I got mine this year at the Front Porch Market in Benton, Arkansas!

When Can You Get This Delicious Corn?

The farm follows a staggered planting schedule. In this way they can pick and sell you the freshest corn every day.

Of course, it all depends on the weather, but you can usually get corn from sometime in June through July. However, if you are going to make a drive – always check before you go!

Here is some information about other places to get great Arkansas produce!

A Taste of Tradition

Having Esau Sweet Corn on the table is an Arkansas summer staple.

If at all possible you should cook and eat your corn the day that you pick some up. This will give you the very best fresh and sweet flavor!

At our house we keep it simple. We just boil our Esau’s Sweet Corn and eat it with a little butter and salt. It literally tastes like summer!

One tip is to remember that fresh corn like this doesn’t need to be cooked long. We boil ours for only about 3 – 5 minutes! You still want it to be crisp!

More than Just Corn

Esau Corn is more than just a seasonal treat, it’s really an Arkansas tradition built on family values and agricultural pride.

Every ear represents careful cultivation, unwavering quality, and generations of sweet corn mastery.

Once you taste this corn nothing else will ever measure up!
